Words are Currency.

Physically they aren’t worth much. Words stand for things way more valuable than themselves. Words are created often and spent far too quickly. Words are just representative tokens that can be easily traded, collected, and distributed by anyone “educated” enough to understand their value. Usually retail value. Unfortunately, we don’t own words, we just use them.

Words tickle our eardrums and excite our cochleae. Words empower peoples. Words teach children and continue traditions. Words document our lives. Words explain what our bodies can’t. Word are artistic, expressive, and poetic. Words have the potential to destroy nations and imprison the innocent. Words sway our emotions more drastically than anything else in this world. Words are dangerous.

Oppressors understand the value of a word. More accurately, oppressors understand the power of words against the powerless. Said “Powerless” are stated as such because of their inability to see a word for more than its face value. Obviously, wordless peoples are silent. No matter how much the powerless speak, they are quiet without the right words and their proper usage.

Cliche of the day: Choose words wisely. If you discover a new one, save it. Memorize it. Then use it when necessary. Continue to study words. Discover their meanings. Research their effectiveness. Share words with your family, share knowledge with your people. Knowledge is power? No. Applied knowledge is power.

They say a rich man is determined by how many words he knows.

When in actuality, a rich man is determined by what words he chooses to use.

Word.
